Golden Sands is the oldest of the three major Bulgarian sea resort, located in the northern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. He is most famous resort on the north coast. Situated at the foot of the Natural Park "Golden Sands", protected by law. Beach, covered with fine golden sand, is long and 3,5 km wide 100 m. Its construction began in 1956 (chief designer is architect. Georgi Ganev), the construction of 70 hotels in 15,000 locations.
Located in the municipality of Varna, Primorsky region, 17 km northeast of the city Varna center. Its old name was Kum Uzun (Long Sands).
